Description

The NuFish Affinium Float Rod 11ft, developed to exacting specifications here in the UK using the highest quality Japanese carbon material. The Affinium range fulfils the demands of anglers who command performance, durability, and refined power across a range of rods. The Affinium 11ft Float is constructed on a 2 piece blank with a spigot joint for a smooth transition of power through the rod from the tip down to the powerful butt, this elegant, lightweight, but powerful rod boasts a  240 g BTC rating which is built on a through action blank that enables floats from 2g to 12g floats to be able to be cast perfectly.

This rod has got enough power and the action lends itself perfectly to the riggers that are demanded from today’s commercial fisheries. So you can cast the small floats at short distances up to the 12 g pellet wagglers that you might want to push to maximums of 30 and 35 m while retaining enough crisp action to be able to strike through the line and set the hook when you are faced with those fast bites. Soft but progressive power in this blank means that it will control and overcome any powerful fighting fish while retaining the subtlety to use lighter lines and hooks for silvers and F1s.

But what is a “BTC” we hear you ask? The BTC rating (Butt-Tip Curve rating) is a measured test, which rates the performance power of a rod. The BTC is determined by applying weight to pull the rod tip through its natural curve to compress the rod by 1/3rd of its total length at 90° to the butt section. This is the point at which the optimum performance of a rod is reached and is typical of its bend when casting, striking and ultimately landing a fish
