Q

Could I use a multiplier reel ?

Hi Craig, Its a fixed screw down reel seat rather than a sliding one. However if you wanted to use a multiplier then you probably can. Regards TackleUK

Q

i have this rod which i assembled to take a look at it. firstly the butt and middle sections did not go together. it was a poor fit. so i greased the 2nd section a little with vaseline and suddenly it shot into the butt section with a very firm connection. unfortunately i now have both sections fused together and i can't get them apart. have you any ideas on what i might do to get this rod to behave normally? sincerely, robert.

By robert robertson - london - 18th Jul 2023
A
Hi Robert, They often make the often make the joint slightly larger to increase the life expectancy of the rod, as it will ware away the more you use it, this is a common feature on rods, such as this. 'I'd recommend to make sure the rod is cool as this will help in loosening the sections and if possible, have a person on each end of the rod, twisting in opposite directions and this should allow the sections to become free. Kind regards Tackleuk

Q

i have this rod in medium power and 4.20m in length. the tip looks particularly frail. i'm concerned that trying to cast some distance with a 4 or 5oz weight might break this part of the rod. are my thoughts justified?

By robert robertson - london - 11th Jul 2023
A
Hi Robert, We'd recommend to keep within the casting weight for the rod and this should be ok. Kind regards Tackleuk

Q

Hi, I am looking for an all-round rod for fishing mixed and clean ground on beaches and in larger estuaries. I am using 5-6oz leads +bait. I was looking at the 100-225g version of these rods, will it be suitable or should I look for something heavier? Thanks

By Rob Mcfarling - Cornwall - 12th Apr 2023
A
Hi Rob, Thank you for your message, we'd recommend something slightly heavier the 4.5M 100g-250g casting weight should be suitable for you. Kind regards Tackleuk

Q

what is the difference between a beach caster rod and a surfcasting rod?

By robert robertson - london - 9th Mar 2023
A
Hi Robert, Beach casters tend to be more heavy duty and used with a tri pod, where as surfcasting rods tend to be lighter and can be fished in your hand if you want to. Kind regards Tackleuk
